Ayanda Sibisi

Ayanda Sibisi is a filmmaker, researcher, programme coordinator, policy advisor, and content director who engages daily in conceptualising and refining ideas through art creation, programme coordination, and the production of thought provoking narratives. She is a trained visual storyteller and researcher, proficient in all facets of film production, and committed to advancing the creative economy through inclusive, visionary leadership.

She holds an honours degree in Film and Television Studies from the University of the Witwatersrand, has undergone training at the International Filmmaking Academy in Italy, and has honed her virtual reality skills. Ayanda’s expertise is further evidenced by her roles
coordinating the Debut Programme for Business and Arts South Africa, managing the Get On Set mentorship programme for the Independent Producers Organisation, and serving as a content director for the Real Housewives franchise.

Ayanda previously served as the interim General Secretary of the Independent Producers Organisation and as a board member of the SOS Coalition and the South African Film Academy. She is also the co-founder of Reel’d Shorts, a curated digital platform showcasing South African short films. The platform aims to build a collection of authentic South African narratives by South African filmmakers, creating a community of films that are educational, inspiring, thoughtprovoking, and entertaining.
